Power Purchase Agreements

Reduced energy rates for your business for upto 30 years – with NO upfront costs

What are Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)?

Power Purchase Agreements (or PPAs) are energy generation models with no or low capital outlay costs for the client.

A PPA allows a solar company to design, install and maintain a commercial-scale solar PV system on a client’s premises where the client then purchases the solar-generated energy at a lower kWh rate than those available from the National Grid.

Working with you at every stage of the partnership

From the initial meeting and site visit through to decommissioning and removal of the PV infrastructure, we work closely with our clients and understand the importance of clear communication and transparency at every stage of a project. Every client receives a dedicated account manager for the duration of the PPA along with a first class O&M service for the ongoing care of your clean energy system.

Are Power Purchase Agreements right for your business?

Power Purchase Agreements provides multiple opportunities for your organisation.

Long-term savings with lower energy rates

Solar energy generated from the PV system is purchased by the client at a lower rate than can be obtained from grid-sourced energy providers, and will only rise inline with RPI.
Lower rates

Financial certainty over lifetime of the PPA

Greater predictability of future energy costs can enhance business confidence and budget accuracy.
Certainty

No upfront costs or O&M charges

We manage and maintain the PV system on the client property in a proactive manner and absorb these costs over the lifetime of the PPA.
No outlay

Efficient use of roof space

Normally an area with a single function, the roof space can be used for generating clean energy.
Utilise space

Clean energy source, ideal for marketing and social media awareness

As solar energy becomes an increasingly important part of our energy mix, a commercial PV system on your premises can act as a good opportunity for marketing and public relations.
Excellent PR

Flexibility at the end of the PPA term

You (the client) have options available, depending on the needs and projections of your business; extend the PPA term further, request the removal of the solar PV infrastructure or purchase the solar PV system and ancillary items outright.
Flexibility

How do Power Purchase Agreements work?

The lifespan of a PPA is covered in six phases.

We meet with a prospective client and conduct an analysis of the roof space. We assess energy generating potential and current energy consumption information.

We submit a proposal to the prospective client outlining the savings that can be made compared with the existing tariff.

If the prospective client accepts the proposal and savings forecast they then agree to lease the airspace above the roof and enter into a Power Purchase Agreement.

Our team install a complete PV system consisting of solar panels, mounting system and inverters (outside core business hours if required, to minimise disruption).

The client receives a source of energy at a kWh rate lower than their previous National Grid-based tariff, typically over a 30-year period.

Client has options available at the end of the PPA: removal of PV system, extending the PPA or purchasing the solar PV infrastructure from us.
